A Change in Paradigm: Dedicated Server
I found it hard to believe, but suddenly I was faced with a real
problem. Well, I suppose most people would not consider it a huge
problem, quite the opposite, in fact. However, it was stressing
me out complete, interfering with my writing. I even had trouble
sleeping.
What was this horrendous problem? My web site was becoming very
popular. So popular, in fact, that I was getting very worried
about bandwidth charges.
You see, this was happening after September 11th, 2001, and I had
been reading about some people who had created very special and
beautiful sites. These sites were so incredible that they
attracted lots and lots of visitors. So many visitors that they
received hundreds of gigabytes worth of traffic. The webmasters
suddenly found themselves charged hundreds or even thousands of
dollars for using bandwidth over their allocations.
I had purchased a contract with a shared hosting service which
allowed 27gb/month of traffic. This seemed like more than enough
at the time. However, I was noticing the bandwidth increasing at
an alarming rate - about 2gb/day. At that rate, I would exceed
the allotment by quite a bit. I had some time, but not much.
Okay, what to do? I looked around at the various shared hosting
options and didn’t see much that was all that attractive. There
were some that offered “unlimited” bandwidth - I didn’t trust
these at all. Most of the terms and conditions actually did
place a “reasonable” limit of some kind. I preferred a limit that
was know verses a limit that was unknown.
Actually, truth be known, I was getting a little tired of the
paid host option. I mean, it’s far improved from free hosts, but
there is still much room for improvement. Some of the things that
were bothering me were:
Downtime - All of the shared hosting servers that I’d checked
out so far seemed to be down more often than desired. I’ve been
in the computer industry for over 23 years, and to me a few hours
of downtime in an entire year is about all that’s acceptable.
It’s not that hard to achieve these kinds of statistics - I’ve
been doing it myself for years.
Support - The level of support from virtually all hosting
companies I’ve used to date has been pathetic to mediocre. My
expectation is simple. My site is down, I want someone to work
on it quickly. I want to call someone, get an answer right away,
and get the problem resolved. Especially during normal business
hours. I have never received that level of support from any
hosting company yet.
Strange errors - I’ve noticed that my web sites will run fine
for a few days or weeks, then start having strange delays. I know
this because I monitor my sites with an automated service. These
delays are probably caused by things that other customers are
doing on the same server.
Lack of communication - Web host support people seem to forget
that we webmasters and businessmen depend upon our web sites. I
don’t know about you, but if my site goes down for any length of
time I completely freak out. I want to know why it’s down and
what’s being done about it. And virtually always I get no
answers. This is most annoying when the downtime has been planned
- these hosts have my email address, why is it so hard to send an
email and let me know what’s going on?
Log file issues - Log files are very important to any true
webmaster. They are useful for finding errors, gauging traffic
and determining the success of promotions and articles. Yet so
far all of the shared hosts gave me incredible grief about log
files. They seemed to want to initialize them at odd intervals
(unpredictable), didn’t allow easy access, allowed too easy
(unsecured) access and generally made it difficult.
Okay, given all of that, it was time to make a change. Not just a
change to another host, but a change in paradigm.
I had tried free hosts (three of them) before deciding they were
not at all suitable for anything except a small hobby web site. I
moved up to paid shared hosts and for a while was happy. I moved,
then moved again, then again. The hosts were all fine for a
while, then starting having trouble.
Shared hosting was not doing what I needed. The straw that broke
the camels back was a question of bandwidth. Internet Tips and
Secrets was exceeding 50gb a month (almost four million hits and
three quarters of a million page views). Wow.
I could not find a shared host that offered a package of a full
gigabyte of disk and upwards of 50gb a month. Not a single one
after looking at over a hundred different packages.
I had a real problem. You see, go over the monthly bandwidth
charge and you get smacked with huge overcharges. For the web
host I had at the time, the charges were $6 per gigabyte. This
would make my hosting bill very large indeed.
Thus I began looking for a dedicated hosting service. I quickly
found a company and purchased a single month.
Here’s what I got. A web server all to myself. I could define as
many as 250 different web sites on the server, and I had complete
control of the DNS. I had root access to the server (meaning I
was more or less god on the box) and could literally do anything
I wanted. I could install anything, do anything and control or
not control everything.
I had 9gb of disk space. Best of all, the service provided a
whooping 400gb of bandwidth usage per month. The server was
extremely fast for my needs. All for around $200/month plus a
setup fee.
The downside (there is always a downside, isn’t there)? The price
was a little steep, but a predictable $200 a month is far
superior to a surprise $500 or even $100 hosting charge. They
also didn’t provide any real autoresponders (but I solved that by
purchasing a package) or web based email. Their support is also
very basic - they have a 24 hour help desk which is friendly and
competent, but they do not appear to be technical heavyweights.
Thus I have now, after a week of hard work, begun a new
adventure - a dedicated web server for the 16 sites that my wife
and I own. So far, the experience is far superior to the shared
hosting nightmares that I’ve been facing.

Betting Room Games of Chance: a Guide to Card-Playing
Supposing you don’t understand betting hall risks and options, do please read on.
The most common definition of a betting room is a structure that focuses on wagering. Here, patrons will bet by challenging one armed bandits or another betting games. Betting house games on the whole have well calculated percentages constituting them that ensure the gambling establishment keeps possession of its superiority versus the gambling enthusiasts.
A lot of betting hall games can incite you into being far too infatuated very rapidly. You have the infamous slotmachine, a cash operated gadget with 3+ cogs which pirouette when a lever on the side is pushed. The machine routinely renders based on a sequence of motifs discernible on the front of the gadget. Sadly, gambling saloon games encourage a fantasy of having the upper hand, thus deluding the player: the addressee is confronted with choice, but these don’t match the customer’s long term disadvantage. That is brought about by the the gaming room never repaying the full wager as hoped for. This systematic policy is repeatedly found in famous casino games such as seven card stud, dice games, roulette or blackjack.
Straight poker is indeed an incredibly popular casino pastime. The clients, closely guarding their fully obscured hands, will bet into a principal pot that is then bestowed onto the last punter enjoying the best set of cards. (As everybody knows, the coolest bluff can win as well…)
free no deposit casinos
Much the same as straight poker, blackjack too is a highly fashionable casino pastime. A considerable amount of its repute is grounded in the mix of luck and expertise & choice making, not to forget a procedure identified as card counting. The aforementioned is an approach through which gamesters may force the odds of the game to their own benefit by both wagering & systematic decisions based on the cards deployed.
“Craps” is a famous wagering game involving the roll of 2 dice. Patrons bet on the score of one spin, or on a sequence of spins of two dice. Contrary to blackjack, there just isn’t any proven long term killer system punters could utilize to beat the odds.
Roulette is another well-known casino pastime - a croupier turns a roulette wheel that accommodates a set of precisely thirtyseven (classical roulette) or, respectively thirtyeight (Vegas roulette) uniquely marked divisions in which the pellet will then come to a stop, thereby determining the winning number as well as its respective odds. Supposing that a participant has placed a chip on any given number which makes it big, in other words they’ve got a lucky hand, the promised remuneration is thirty-five to one, the initial stake proper is paid back. Indeed in total it’s increased by a factor of 36.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DVD) Review
Nominated for 28 Emmys, including several for Outstanding Visual Effects, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine continues the rich tradition of the original 1960s Star Trek franchise. Created by former L.A. police officer Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed into a franchise famous for the unprecedented fanatical devotion of its audience. Lasting only three seasons during its original network run, Star Trek struck gold with its syndicated reruns, launching a number of motion pictures featuring the original cast as well as novels, comic books, collectibles, and reams of Star Trek-related memorabilia. Following on the heels of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), the first Star Trek series spin-off of the original, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine foreshadowed additional spin-offs - Star Trek: Voyager (1995), and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). Sporting an entirely new cast and crew from its two predecessors, the show focuses on a particular system administered by the Federation instead of the usual Star Trek mission of “exploring strange new worlds”…
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine follows the exploits of the Starfleet crew aboard an abandoned and gutted Cardassian space station orbiting the planet of Bajor. In the aftermath of Cardassian occupation, the Bajorian government invited the Starfleet to oversee the reconstruction of the space station. Deep Space Nine quickly transformed into a teeming city of commerce and a hub for travel (similar to Babylon 5) thanks to the discovery of an unknown wormhole nearby. But the wormhole leads to the Gamma Quadrant, realm of the feared Dominion alliance, which views the wormhole travelers as a threat to its totalitarian grip on power. As such, the Dominion launches an attack against the Federation and its Klingon allies. The subsequent and ongoing war is the basis for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine…
Capt. Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) is credited with discovering the wormhole, and he oversees the crew of Deep Space Nine as they wage battle to preserve the Federation. Ironically, his colleague, Constable Odo (Rene Auberjonois), is a Changeling - an alien race of “shapeshifters” who lead the Dominion’s united front. Together with the rest of the crew aboard Deep Space Nine, they struggle with internal and external conflicts that threaten to destroy their very way of life…
The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the series premiere “Emissary” in which the recently abandoned Cardassian space station, Terok Nor, is resettled by the Federation at the request of the Bajorians. Capt. Benjamin Sisko takes command and his discovery of the first stable wormhole nearby, a wormhole worshipped by the Bajorians as a god, transforms Sisko into a prophet in the eyes of the Bajorians. Meanwhile, the audience meets the rest of the cast and crew for Deep Space Nine… Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “Move Along Home” in which Quark’s cheating prompts a group of aliens from Gamma Quadrant to exact revenge on the crew of Deep Space Nine, and “Dramatis Personae” in which an indwelling by aliens transforms Sisko and Kira into enemies of the crew…

The Jesus Conspiracy
For archaeomythologists and researchers like myself there is an abundance of value in the Bible. It is a veritable gold-mine of insight to our ancient past and the people who built the Great Pyramid in honor of their ancestors and a worldwide Brotherhood. It is in fact written by them and it is coded to relay many of their ancient myths that they used to manage their people and colonies. Many things mentioned in the Bible are not yet re-created by science unless the black ops people have succeeded with things they took from Freud’s student Wilhelm Reich and others I have addressed in other books. The Logos and String Theory or Harmonics and all so many great technologies that did not require materialistic attitudes are there. Tesla said he found the egis of his wireless system in Revelations. That is the man who brought us AC electricity, neon, Niagara Falls hydroelectric power, and the radio among many other things black ops are still working on.
Hermeneuts and Bible scholars or interpreters galore have and still disagree over the meaning of the Bible as well as the meaning in many of the excerpts they argue about. It is most difficult to actually know what the message of Jesus was sometimes when you listen to all the pulpit-pounders or proselytes. Clearly there are many myths in the Bible and some of the passages if followed religiously would lead to Armageddon and cannibalism as well as all manner of pornographic and perverse acts. Wait a minute! What am I saying? That is what goes on in the land they call Holy that has so many holes caused by bullets as well as the other kind of holes. Pardon me if I get a little too passionate or crude for your sensibilities as I detail the War on Women these misogynists have wrought from the time of Moses and Abraham with his baby-factories or harems.
I hope that I can convey the positive message of Jesus and what his title means even though I am not going to focus on that as much as I am trying to place some political questions about various intrigues in front of the reader. I will take excerpts from my many other books including a very positive portrayal and semi-fiction called The Early Life of Jesus. I believe I have been motivated and inspired by the message of Jesus for most if not all of my life. In fact I have studied what he studied even though there is no school for these things in our present day. I have studied it long and hard for at least three decades. I live it now and for the last few years since 1999. I can attest to the fact that Malcolm Muggeridge was right about what would happen to Jesus if he was alive today. But I do not believe in Messiahs or any of the myths that pre-date Jesus. Those myths like the ‘only begotten’ make it easy for people to do whatever they want and simply confess, testify, or pay-off the priestly politicos.
The House of David has been part of secret trade and the use of sorcery and power for many millennia but it was Rome that ramped up the program to its Dark Age and Crusading nature. Rome did not fall and the so-called New World Order is not old at all.

Seecrets On Website Promotion: How You Can Get A #1 Ranking
Few businesses are prepared for the hyper speed and competition on the internet. Experts estimate that less than three percent of the tens of thousands of new website registrations each day will eventually succeed. The sheer volume of daily announcements drowns out all but the savviest webmasters. Yet, most site owners overlook a simple law of physics.
Launching a new website with enough acceleration to rise above this ever increasing daily din needs some force. It is common to see a website with a different name and various product or service offerings with equally unrelated names. Promoting these diverse brands will naturally need more energy than promoting just one brand.
However, if the website’s name is carefully chosen to resemble the site’s main theme, all the promotion energies can focused on just one keyword. Products and services can have this name embedded into the official product names (think Microsoft Office).
Consider the example of “seecrets”, which is a misspelling of a common word. It also reflects the main theme of the website which is in the business of protecting digital data, documents and software. It is fortuitous coincidence that this name is the same as the site’s resident writer, Stan Seecrets.
This author then sent five articles in as many weeks to about a dozen article submission sites. The result was astonishing. Within a week after the first article, Google ranked this author’s site #1 for this particular keyword. MSN also ranked this same #1 after about 6 weeks.
It is perplexing with Yahoo. The moment this keyword is keyed in, it gives a #1 ranking. When this author repeats the search five minutes later, the ranking disappeared altogether. Maybe, there is a big bug in their software or this search engine is as indecisive as we are.
This is an example of getting a #1 ranking by careful selection of the website’s name. Obviously this author cannot provide a list of step-by-step procedures. Readers who are using the most powerful computer located at the top of their heads can easily figure it out.
Getting a #1 ranking for one keyword is just a confidence-booster and perhaps some bragging rights. The longer journey with other keywords has just begun with this small step.
Please remember that past performance do not guarantee future results, only intelligence, common-sense plus Labor Omnia Vincit (Latin for labor conquers all - Oklahoma state motto) can.
Stan Seecrets’ Postulate: “The brand is the website.”
(Spoofing Marshall McLuhan “The Medium is the Message”. McLuhan is considered by many, as the prophet of the electronic age)

Cisco CCNA Certification Exam Tutorial: Distance Vector Command Review
Part of studying for CCNA exam success is keeping all these new commands straight in your head! And let’s face it, there are a lot of commands you need to know in order to pass the CCNA exam and earn that certification. Here’s a review of some very important distance vector and static routing commands you need to know, along with their proper usage and console output.
Bandwidth
R2#conf t
R2(config)#int s0
R2(config-if)#bandwidth 512
IGRP makes a default assumption that any Serial interface running IGRP is connected to a T1 line, which runs at 1544 KBPS. With equal-cost load-balancing enabled by default, this may be an undesirable assumption.
To alter IGRP’s assumption, use the bandwidth command on the serial interface in question. Note that this command does NOT actually affect the bandwidth available to the interface; it merely changes IGRP’s assumption of the bandwidth.
Clear ip route *
R2#clear ip route *
This command clears your routing table of all non-static and non-connected routes. In a lab environment, it’s very handy because it forces your routers running routing protocols to send and request updates, rather than waiting for the regularly scheduled updates.
Debug ip igrp events
R2#debug ip igrp event
IGRP event debugging is on
R2#clear ip route *
06:02:51: IGRP: broadcasting request on BRI0
06:02:51: IGRP: broadcasting request on Serial0.123
Debug ip igrp events allows you to see IGRP updates being sent and requested. Here, the debug is run and then the routing table is cleared. The router immediately broadcasts update requests via the IGRP-enabled interfaces.
Debug ip igrp transactions
R2#debug ip igrp transactions
IGRP protocol debugging is on
R2#clear ip route *
06:05:33: IGRP: received update from 172.12.123.1 on Serial0.123
06:05:33: subnet 172.12.123.0, metric 10476 (neighbor 8476)
06:05:33: network 1.0.0.0, metric 8976 (neighbor 501)
06:05:33: IGRP: edition is now 3
06:05:33: IGRP: sending update to 255.255.255.255 via BRI0 (172.12.12.2)
06:05:33: network 1.0.0.0, metric=8976
06:05:33: IGRP: sending update to 255.255.255.255 via Serial0.123 (172.12.123.2) - suppressing null update
06:05:34: IGRP: received update from 172.12.12.1 on BRI0
06:05:34: subnet 172.12.13.0, metric 160250 (neighbor 8476)
06:05:34: network 1.0.0.0, metric 158750 (neighbor 501)
To configure IGRP unequal-cost load-sharing with the variance command, you’ve got to know the metric of the less-desirable routes. EIGRP keeps these in its topology table; IGRP has no such table.
To get the metrics of routes not in the routing table, run debug ip igrp transactions. To force IGRP updates, the routing table was cleared with clear ip route *.
Debug ip packet
R2#debug ip packet
IP packet debugging is on
R2#ping 172.12.123.2
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 172.12.123.2, timeout is 2 seconds:
06:10:04: IP: s=172.12.12.2 (local), d=172.12.123.2, len 100, unroutable.
06:10:06: IP: s=172.12.12.2 (local), d=172.12.123.2, len 100, unroutable.
06:10:08: IP: s=172.12.12.2 (local), d=172.12.123.2, len 100, unroutable.

If you have a problem sending a ping, this command will give you a good idea where the problem is. Here, the message indicates that there is no route to the destination.
Debug ip rip
2#debug ip rip
IP protocol debugging is on
2#clear ip route *
6:14:53: RIP: received v2 update from 172.23.23.3 on Ethernet0
6:14:53: 1.0.0.0/8 via 0.0.0.0 in 16 hops (inaccessible)
6:14:53: 1.1.1.1/32 via 0.0.0.0 in 2 hops
6:14:53: 172.12.0.0/16 via 0.0.0.0 in 16 hops (inaccessible)

6:14:53: 172.12.13.0/30 via 0.0.0.0 in 1 hops

Run debug ip rip to troubleshoot routing update problems, RIP authentication problems, and to view the routing update contents. Clear ip route * was run to clear the routing table and to force a RIP update. Note that poison reverse is in operation. (A route that is unavailable is not just dropped from updates; it is advertised with an unreachable metric.)
Ip route
R2#conf t
R2(config)#ip route 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 172.12.123.1
OR
R2(config)#ip route 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 serial0
To configure a static route to a given destination IP address, use the ip route command. The destination is followed by a subnet mask, and that can be followed by either the next-hop IP address or the exit interface on the local router.
Ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
R2#conf t
R2(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.12.123.1
OR
R2(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ethernet0
To configure a default static route, use either of these two commands.
You could have any number for the first “0.0.0.0″, since the second set of zeroes is the subnet mask. This means that any destination will match this route statement.

Automating Your Follow Up Messages
Autoresponders are an extremely powerful way to streamline your business. By automating your business, you will decrease your work load while increasing the impact of your marketing campaign.
I can’t stress enough how important this is to do from the very beginning! It can be overwhelming to suddenly have dozens of prospects needing answers immediately. The good news is that most prospects will ask the same questions and an effective autoresponder can easily respond to them.
So, what exactly is an autoresponder?
An Autoresponder is simply an email address that automatically answers requests with a message that you create.
Your visitor gets the information he or she wants right away - there is no waiting for you to answer your email. This is very important on the internet because people expect immediate results.
There are many Autoresponders floating around the internet. Many are offered for free. Obviously these are a popular choice but the vast majority of them have one big drawback. They’re offered free because other advertisers pay to have their own message added to each message YOU send out. That means in addition to seeing YOUR sales message, the recipient also sees an advertisement for someone else’s product or service.
So, what should you look for in an autoresponder? Some key features are:
QUICK RESPONSE
Your autoresponder should reply to a request within a few minutes. Be careful with this one. Many autoresponders *claim* to answer emails within minutes, but few actually do.
INSTANT ACCESS TO YOUR MESSAGE
You want personal control over your autoresponder documents You need to be able to change your autoresponder message at any time, and have it take effect immediately. You also want a user friendly system for both you and your prospects.
ABILITY TO SEND UNLIMITED FOLLOW-UP MESSAGES
It usually takes 7 or more exposures to a message before you can close a sale. You need to make sure you have the ability to stay in front of your prospect for at least that long.
NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF REQUESTS
You don’t want to be limited to the number of people you can reach with your autoresponder. This will substantially inhibit the growth of your business.
NO CHARGE FOR CHANGES TO YOUR MESSAGE
Success on the Internet depends in large part on experimentation, testing, and more testing. That means you’ll be continuously trying to improve your autoresponder message; and you don’t want to have to pay for it.
ABILITY FOR PEOPLE TO “OPT-OUT”
This gives the recipient the option of removing him or herself from your mailing list. If you don’t do this, you could be accused of spamming and end up in a whole lot of trouble!
ABILITY TO PERSONALIZE YOUR MESSAGE
Addressing your prospect by name is a very powerful rapport builder. You want your prospects to feel like you are talking directly to them. Make sure your auto responder has this capability.
Take the time to carefully choose the right autoresponder. Keep in mind the most important features YOU need and make sure your autoresponder has that capability. For instance, the autoresponder I use now Aweber gives me unlimited message size, unlimited number of autoresponders, and excellent response time. Of course it has a lot more than that … but those are the ones I was most concerned with.
If you don’t have an autoresponder, I’d suggest getting one now. The right one can save you time … and increase your sales!

Training before Mountaineering Improves Performance and Reduces Accidents
Every year it is the very same account. Despite walking to work, and an infrequent long walk, each ski season kicks off with those torturous 1st few hikes when one is forgotten in the wake of junior and faster snowboarding buddies. It’s enough to ruin my skiing holiday.
If you are not match fit while ski touring it’s unenjoyable, and may be out and out unsafe. Skiing down you need some surplus capability. If you are a tired skier you are more than likely to suffer injuries and fatigue can be a contributing factor to incidents, such as trips and rock falls.
Surely there’s a safer way to begin the ski season, and a newly released 304 page report by Cherie Wherry looks to provide a resolution. Though directed at climbers the information is for the most part relevant to skiing, with its energetic ascents as well as different games.
Climbing, training for best results is adequately detailed and easy to read. It’s a good all-round guide that pulls together some good research. You can evolve a unique cardiovascular regime or tune your current programme. Granted that it is written for mountaineers, and so a little of the information maybe extraneous for skiing, it is certainly a guide to buy if you would like to do some of the long 24 hour or multi-day ski tours.
