Time, money and effort are important human resources. These are needed in abundance, especially while conducting research through surveys. The advent of survey software has helped save these valuable resources. It hardly takes any time to build, distribute and analyze the results of a survey. The costs of communication, stationery and personnel are drastically cut down while using survey software. However, survey software does not come entirely free.

With its matchless advantages, survey software is irresistible. Even students who need to conduct surveys are tempted to use it. Non-profit organizations, too, need it urgently. But they might not have the funds to purchase it. Companies who have funds might be skeptical to buy a new product and be unsure of satisfactory results. To every problem, there is an answer. A large number of vendors provide survey software online. Every one of them provides a free trial pack and money back guarantee after purchase. Users can try different packs and determine which one suits their needs best before making final payment. Students can use it free of cost for short assignments, without any obligation to subscribe.

Vendors do not provide all features in free survey software. In most cases, there is a time limit of one month for trial. Some vendors offer a discounted price to students and non-profit NGOs. Unlimited free accounts are also available, but with many restrictions. For instance, they may set a limit to the number of questions and responses. If users cross the limits of a free account, the survey will continue but responses can be viewed only after the fee is paid. The responses cannot be downloaded. The time limit for each survey is only a few days. Only aggregated totals can be viewed, not the cross analysis or individual results. Customization, like color fonts and logos, may not be possible.

Though the free survey software is limited in features, it gives users a good idea of what it is all about. It helps people decide what they actually want before they shell out money. For short surveys or student purposes, it is the ideal thing to go for. It is a great opportunity for all who want to get a taste of revolution in survey methods, thanks to survey software.

Survey Software provides detailed information on Survey Software, Online Survey Software, Email Survey Software, Free Survey Software and more. Survey Software is affiliated with Tax Preparation Software.

This week Pittsburgh Steelers player Joey “I have a big mouth” Porter did some trash talking against the Indianapolis Colts offense. Joey Porter seems to have a problem that the Colts audible in attempt to confuse their opponents. Porter doesn’t feel that it’s real football.

Joey Porter is not thinking with a full deck. Of course NFL teams will try and confuse their opponents. It’s part of the game. the Colts are run by a smart football coach and their Quarterback Peyton Manning is a talented and smart player.

Maybe Porter is afraid that he doesn’t have the smarts to play against the Colts. Maybe the Colts are too smart for him. He might like to think with his biceps but the Colts think with their brains.

I also think Porter is not being a team player. Many NFL players hate when their teammates trash talk their opponents. If I was his teammate I would be extremely upset with him.

Why would you trash talk your opponent, especially when they’re the best team in the AFC? The only answer that I can think of is that Porter isn’t the brightest person. He may have physical talent but he’s in dire need of a brain that fires on all cylinders. Porter is a disgrace to the NFL, his team, and all athletes.

I’m starting to get sick of players like Porter. I want to see players perform on the field and not act like clowns off the field. Now when I think of Joey Porter, he reminds me of a clown. I can’t take him seriously anymore.

I hope that Indianapolis destroys the Steelers tomorrow. I would have hoped for the Steelers but I can’t stand what Porter said. I’ll support the smart team on Sunday.

Sometimes we get comfortable and forget that we need to expand our efforts, our limitations, and our horizons. This goes for individuals as well as communities and organizations as well.

A recent BBC television production concerned dwarf dinosaurs of Transylvania, land of vampires and legend. Born in 1877, Austro-Hungarian nobleman and self-taught palaeontologist, Franz Baron Nopsca von Felso-Szilvas searched out fossils of dinosaurs near his castle and then at other sites in Transylvania. What he found fascinating was that his local dinosaurs were tiny compared to their cousins found elsewhere in the world.

‘They would have made cute pets,’ says Dr David Weishampel, a modern day expert on Eastern European dinosaurs at Johns Hopkins University in the USA, and a fan of Franz Nopsca David Weishampel says that Nopsca had a brilliant idea about these budget-sized dinosaurs and why they were small.

Nopsca thought about the creatures as a community, as members of an ecosystem, and proposed that their modest scale could be explained by the fact that they had lived isolated on a large island.
Working With Dinosaurs, BBC World Service

Being isolated even on a large island can be limiting. Being isolated on a small island can be ruinous.

In a History Channel commercial, a citizen of Dubai talks about the internet. He praises the amount of information available in books and writings to be found on the net. He figures if he doesn’t learn all he can, it’s because of his own laziness . . . and he didn’t seem lazy. Daily we compete with people well beyond the shores of our own little pond. We need to learn all we can.

Learning and training go hand and hand. Receiving knowledge is good, but training in imperative. We must discover how to use knowledge and learn how to make it work for us.

There is an excellent training video, based on a best selling book, called Why Didn’t I Think Of That?, which shows what we can do to help the situation.

Cultivating the creative spirit requires tools to help view surroundings in a new light. Stretch your employees’ thinking skills with the 10 challenges presented in this mind-expanding video.

Key Training Points:

  • How to break the well-worn habits of thought to enhance creativity
  • How to stimulate others to share ideas and generate alternatives
  • How to avoid paradigms, which influence the way you look at problems
    — ad copy from Why Didn’t I Think of That?

  • In business we need to be aware of people, customs, and ideas, as well as how we can put these elements to use. We need to constantly learn and improve ourselves. We need to seek out problems and overcome them. If we don’t expand our knowledge with all of our resources at hand, we are no better than individuals who have no resources.

To be competitive in business and life, we can’t afford to be lazy. We can’t afford to be cute little pets. We need to be hungry for learning. We need to outgrow our pond.

Affiliate program is the starting place for a big majority of home entrepreneurs and beginners in Internet Marketing, because of the small amount of work involved. There is some elements that you must absolutely look for before you start promoting an affiliate product…

Tip #1. Promote a unique product to get better results.

Promoting a product which is already being sold by hundreds or affiliates will not give you the same results as if you have a unique proposition. A different product that only some affiliates distribute. That kind of program is a little bit difficult to find because it is not in the interest of the merchant to do so in the short term.

Tip #2. Powerful and effective affiliates tools.

When you are ready to promote, you may be lost if you are new to affiliates marketing. Actually, most of the beginners take months to make their first sale, because the merchant doesn’t help them in their hard work. So be sure to find a powerful and clear affiliates resource section. That will skyrocket your chances of success. Also, a good communication with the merchant is hard to find, but it is a must.
Try to find these resources, or some of them.

Tip #3. Example of effective resources:

    * Brandable ebooks to give away or sell at a little price with your own affiliate ID links to generate leads… and sales.

    * Sales letters provided.

    * Templates of the emails to send to your list(s), pre-writen email or even better.

    * Free promotional tips provided, to make money without spending thousands in the beginning (a must for beginners)

    * Advices and tips for paid promotional techniques (don’t loose all your money in something that don’t bring results).

    * Redirect links through your own website. For example: www.yoursite.com/theaffiliatesite/

    * Banners

    Tip #4. Good Tracking software.

It is a very important part. You must be able to monitor almost everything in your resources section:
you must be able to track your sales, how many visitors came to your site and to the merchant site, by which page they enter to the merchant site(here is the importance of the redirect links).
You must be able to view your payment history, and also how many people signed up underneath you if it is a two tiers affiliate program.

Tip #5. Cookies plus IP addresses.

Today, it is a common practice by Internet users to clear their cookies daily or weekly. So if you spend money on PPC or any other paid advertising to get a customer, you do not want to see another affiliate get the commission you should have received. So try to choose an affiliate program with a tracking software which take also the IP address of your future customer. By the way, recurring commissions are a must.

Last but not least, try to find associate programs with generous compensation plan, and give a preference to the two tiers affiliates programs because you will be paid on two levels. Good promotion, and enjoy your affiliate life.

    Overview of contextual advertising

The dot.com crash brought down with the drying out of revenue from traditional online advertising. The lowest point was reached in2002. The following year Google came out with a solution in the form of contextual advertising called Google AdSense. Today it provides a re-invigorated source of earning source from online advertising.

What sets Google Adsense unique is that it delivers ads that are contextually relevant to the audience. In other words Google Adsense basically allows any website owner to act as an affiliate for Google by displaying Google’s paid ‘Adwords’ adverts on their own website.

Adwords, by the way, is the boxed results down the right-hand side that we see when do a Google search. AdWords provides pay-per-click advertising from a minimum 5 cents per click to a maximum of $100 per click. In joining the AdWords program advertisers are given the necessary tools to pick their keywords, write their ads as well as to track performance of their advertisements.

Google AdSense uses proprietary advanced technology to determine the contents of the website and deliver the appropriate advertisement based on the web content. Adsense publishers paste some HTML code that Google provides into their web page. The code creates the relevant contextual ads. The publisher is paid each time a visitor clicks one of the Adsense ads. Advertisers pay Google each time their ad is clicked and a percentage is paid to What makes Google Adsense work for most anyone is the simplicity. The most important criteria to be a successful Google AdSense publisher is richness of the content of the website.

What makes AdSense publishing an excellent home based business opportunity?

    1st Reason: Simplicity

All you have to do is to have QUALITY content on the website and Google will do the rest. The system allows full ad customization. Webmasters can choose between the various options including the color scheme to making the ads a much more natural fit. In addition, Google also provides real-time feedback reporting for the website owners to track and monitor the performance of their Ads as well as monitor trends. This allows them to make further refinements to optimize their ads.

On top of it Google will pay you a percentage of every cent they earn when someone clicks on an advert on one of your pages. Remember that AdWords work on a pay-per-click basis ranging from 5 cents to $100 per click. Statistically speaking most of the words are going to fall within the middle range that is estimated to be between 20 cents to 50 cents. Hence if the website offers good content it would certainly attract many visitors and consequently larger revenue.

2nd Reason: You can virtually control what you earn

Targeted advertisements based on the audience’ needs are bound to generate higher response. Indeed it has been found that the more relevant the advertisement the more likely is it going to be read. Hence there is greater chance of making money with contextual ads rather than the usual ones. Furthermore an advertisement that is blended within the content ultimately becomes a content factor itself and this also elevates the content value of the website and in turn the revenue. In other words you can boost your revenue by employing strategies to enrich the content of your website.

3rd Reason: It’s a potentially never ending income stream

Studies have shown that better content attracts more clicks on the ads. So you can concentrate on continuously improving your web content and attract more visitors. Hence AdSense in a way provides an opportunity to create a potentially a never ending revenue stream.

How much can you earn from AdSense?

The pay per click advertising is estimated to be a $3 billion industry. While more than 200 million searches are conducted every day for goods and services, there are only less than 100,000 advertisers. Hence demand FAR outstrips supply. This suggests that this is one niche that provides great potential to make a lot of money. In fact this is the type of ideal market we all learn in marketing. Secondly it also suggests that it is possible for individual entrepreneurs with attractive web content to generate extraordinarily large amounts of revenue. Three of the highest earning individuals are Jason Calacanis, Markus Frind and Joel Comm.

Jason Calacanis runs Weblogs Inc., a network dedicated to creating trade weblogs across niche industries. His company only started using AdSense in September 2004. Before the end of 2005, Jason made history by earning $1 million. You can read Jason’s million dollar blog entry http://calacanis.weblogsinc.com/entry/1234000403051129/.

One of the best success story with Adsense is Markus Frind who operates the immensely popular online dating website PlentyofFish.com . In a post at Webmasterworld.com, Markus revealed that he has earned $1 million from Adsense alone in 3 months.

Joel Comm is no stranger to AdSense. In fact he is known as Dr AdSense. He makes more than $18,343 in a single month.

If you think that making money from Google AdSense is difficult think again. There are many individuals who make more than $ 20,000 per month from AdSense earnings. Some individuals earn in the 6 figure range. Read the many blogs and forums out there. You too can do it.

    Does Google AdSense face competition?

Although Google AdSense still rules the roost in contextual advertising, new entrants are beginning to fill in sub-niches. Among the contenders are Kontera, Vibrant Media, Chitika.

Kontera is unique in the sense that while it is provides ad banners similar to AdSense, it also uses keywords within the page text as ads - by underlining them and giving ads in the form of tool tips upon a mouse over of the underlined text (ad). Vibrant Media also provides similar services. Both differ from Google Adsense in that you would have to have high-quality content-rich site that enjoys high web traffic. This effectively cuts out newbies.

Chitika or better known as eMiniMalls is a product-advertising service that uses both contextual and keyword specific advertising (you can choose one of two) to display product information on your website. eMiniMalls can be configured to run both contextually or by manually specifying keywords.

These alternatives will be dealt with in greater detail in a separate article.

Business-to-business service providers have a wide range of tactics they can deploy to gain new clients or customers. Direct mail; cold calling; TV, radio or print advertising are all ways in which B2B services gain new customers. In the last 10 years, the Internet has become another strategy to boost business, through advertising, web site optimization and online lead generation.

    What is Online Lead Generation?

Simply put, online lead generation automatically sends information on prospective clients and their service needs to your e-mail inbox or to a web site account. Internet services such as ProcureAPro.com provide your business with an account where you can upload your business profile, location, hours of operation, client testimonials, and licensing information. Potential customers fill out a form online with their requirements for what kind of service they need, that potential client is matched with B2B providers for that service in their local area (or nationally, if the situation warrants), and the client’s information is e-mailed to the matched B2B providers.

What Kind of Information Do Potential Clients Provide?

When a potential client fills out a form to request B2B services, they provide their name, phone number, location, and type of service needed. Depending on what kind of B2B service the client needs, they may provide even more detail, such as when they need the work completed; their target audience (for marketing services); the size of their staff (for human resources and other business services); technical requirements; the size of their office space (for furniture and other facilities services); and more.

Can Online Lead Generation Work for My Business?

Mark Shulimson, manager of ProcureAPro.com says “We use a number of both automated and human quality assurance checks to ensure the quality of our requests.” While receiving a lead from a potential client is a major part of the equation, salesmanship comes into play. How you approach the potential client when you contact them is a big factor in whether you can convert a lead into a customer. “Once you receive a request, actively following up with them is key. Don’t be passive, don’t let email do the work for you, pick up the phone and make your presentation in person”, says Mr. Shulimson. “Give potential customers reasons to hire you and a sense of urgency. Why should this customer act now? ‘I’m usually booked but have an opening in my schedule this week’.” Be sure that the person who contacts potential clients knows your business, pricing structure, licenses, experience and availability.

    What Will it Cost Me?

Fee structures for online lead generation service vary widely. Fees also vary depending on what kind of B2B service you provide. “However pricing is structured you need to look at the Return on Investment or ROI. At ProcureAPro, our vendors setup a monthly budget. Say for example $100 budget for lead generation. At the end of a specified time period answer the question I spent $100 did I receive $100 worth of value? Most of the time the answer is going to be yes!”

The bottom line is that online lead generation is a cost-effective tool that can help you gain more customers. Using online lead generation in combination with traditional marketing techniques can help you build a string and success B2B service business.

When looking for a mortgage, it’s essential to understand the different products that are available so you can be sure you get the right one for you. Lenders offer different interest rate options and this will affect your monthly payments. So choosing the right deal could save you money.

With so many product choices available it is essential you get professional indepenedent advice.

    Types of mortgage products available:

    Standard Variable Rate Mortgage

With this mortgage, your payments will go up and down as the lender’s standard variable rate goes up or down. Usually any changes in the lenders variable rate will be in line with movements in the Bank of England base rate. The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee reviews this rate on a monthly basis.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if you can afford to pay more when mortgage interest rates go up and want to take advantage of lower payments if rates fall.

No - if during the early years you would be unable to cope if repayments increased because of rising interest rates.

    Base Rate Tracker Mortgage

This is similar to a variable rate mortgage. But the interest rate will go up and down exactly in line with any changes in the Bank of England base rate. Your mortgage payments will go up and down too as the interest rate changes. The tracker period is usually for a specified time, which can be from one year up to the lifetime of the mortgage loan. At the end of the tracker period, your mortgage interest rate will change to the lenders standard variable rate. This product may carry an early repayment charge.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if you want to be sure your mortgage rate falls by the same amount as the Bank of England base rate falls, but the drawback is the mortgage rate also rises in step when the base rate increases.

No - if you find yourself locked into a rate above the base rate, which may be higher than the standard variable rate.

    Fixed Rate Mortgage

Your mortgage interest rate is fixed for a set period only, during which your mortgage payments will stay the same. At the end of the fixed rate period, your mortgage interest rate will change to the lender’s standard variable rate. Fixed rate mortgages are usually available for between one and ten years, however they can be available for longer periods depending on market conditions. This product may carry an early repayment charge.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if you need to budget with certainty for the next few years, or you think mortgage interest rates will rise, or both.

No - probably not if you think mortgage interest rates will fall.

    Discounted Rate Mortgage

The lender offers a discount off their standard variable rate for a set period, normally one or two years. Your mortgage payments will still vary in line with changes in the standard variable rate. At the end of the discount period, your mortgage interest rate will be the same as the lender’s standard variable rate. This product may carry an early repayment charge.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if money is tight when you first take out the mortgage, but you’re confident your income will increase.

No - if you won’t be able to cope if interest rates rise later on, increasing your payments.

    Capped & Collar Rate Mortgages

With a capped rate mortgage the interest rate can go up or down in line with movements in the lender’s standard variable rate, but cannot go above a set upper limit, known as the ‘cap’ or ‘ceiling’. This type of mortgage can also have a set lower limit, known as the ‘collar’. For these mortgages the interest rate can move between these limits but cannot fall below the collar or go above the cap. This product may carry an early repayment charge.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if you like to budget with some certainty, think mortgage interest rates might rise above the cap, or you want the security of knowing your payments cannot rise above a set level and would like to benefit from any fall in interest rates.

No - if your mortgage adviser can find a fixed rate set at a lower rate than the capped rate, and you think rates are unlikely to fall below the level of the fixed rate deal.

    Cashback Mortgage

The lender pays you a cash lump sum after completion, which you can use for any purpose. This product may carry an early repayment charge.

    Is it right for me?

Yes - if you need a cash lump sum, for example to do up your home, or you expect the cashback to more than compensate for any rises in interest rates during the period when an early repayment charge may apply.

No - if you can manage without a cashback now and can get an alternative deal.

Remember your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

James Crawford is the father of Steamboat Springs, Colorado having settled in a
cabin on Soda Creek in 1874. Instead of becoming “Crawfordville,” legend has it the
town was named for the rhythmic chugging of a hot spring that disgorged mineral
water 15 feet into the air. The medicinal springs brought the first settlers to the
valley and later the town became an international ski jumping mecca with the arrival
of Norwegian champion Carl Howelsen in 1913. Today outdoor enthusiasts and dog
lovers don’t wait for the snow to fall to make their way to Steamboat Springs.

In town, the Yampa River Trail system links Steamboat Springs with the
surrounding mountain area. The trails provide easy dog walking along the Yampa
River and through city parks. More than 150 hot springs gurgle around Steam-
boat Springs. Following the Hot Springs Walking Tour takes your dog to seven
historic springs, including Heart Springs. The origin and history of each spring is
detailed on interpretive signs. Look for the descriptive brochure in the Chamber
    Info Center (1255 South Lincoln/Highway 40).

To get out of town head for the Spring Creek Trail, an 8-mile round-trip that
begins at the corner of Amethyst Drive and East Spring Street. The route is an easy
canine hike on a well-graded trail that meanders up to the Spring Creek
    Reservoir and Dry Lake Campground.

Just north of town is Fish Creek Falls, a 283-foot plunging waterfall that is the
town’s leading visitor attraction. Canine hikers will know it as the starting point for
the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail. Long wooded inclines at the beginning of
the trail give way to a steep, rocky climb before leveling off in alpine meadows on
the 5-mile journey to Long Lake. Continuing past Long Lake, you shortly reach the
Continental Divide. The elevation gain on this out-and-back trail, Forest Service
Trail #1102, rises from 7400 to more than 10,000 feet and and patches of snow in
shady spots will delight your dog even in summer.

Steamboat Springs is located northwest of Denver, on US 40.
